Newcastle considering move for Chelsea striker

As the summer transfer window approaches, football clubs are already mapping list of players to could sign to boost their squad.

In Newcastle United’s case, the Magpies are said to have their eyes Chelsea attacker Christopher Nkunku.

The 27-year-old is one of the big players that several clubs would want to sign in the summer window.

A report via Foot Mercato disclosed that Nkunku is expected to leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the season, despite signing a six-year deal when he arrived in West London in 2023.

The reports claimed Eddie Howe’s Newcastle side have expressed interest to sign the French forward.

Aside from the Magpies, report claimed that Premier League champions Liverpool have commenced talks about a potential deal for Nkunku.

German Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are also reported to have him on their radar.

The Blues are said to be holding out a transfer fee of £35m to sell Nkunku as against the £52m they paid to sign him from RB Leipzig two years ago.

Nkunku, who impressed in Germany, however, struggled to become the main striker at Stamford Bridge, with Nicolas Jackson getting more game time ahead of him.
