Liverpool’s pursuit of Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi looks like a deal that might not be happening as the reds look elsewhere

It’s currently the last day for clubs in Europe to make their final move in the transfer window and Liverpool remain one of the biggest clubs still looking for a center back.

Jurgen Kloop’s side has been linked with numerous centre backs as they are seeking replacement for injured Virgil Van Dijk, Joel Matip and Joe Gomez.

Mustafi has become one of the names linked with the reds as he has struggled to secure a place in Mikel Arteta’s team.

However, it looks likes he’s to find another team to play for as Liverpool have found a breakthrough in there pursuit for a center back that will help them till their injured players recover.

Liverpool have agreed a deal of £2million for Preston centre-back Ben Davies and the defender will be unveiled in the next few hours.

Davies is identified as a better option to Mustafi who has only featured three times in the Premier League this season for Arsenal.
