Former Man City star Gabriel Jesus in a recent statement spoke about his preferred position after featuring on the wing for the Gunners this season.

According to Jesus, he moved to the Emirates Stadium from Manchester City thinking he would be used as a striker for the Gunners.

However, the Brazil star has since accepted his new role within the Gunners squad, due to the injury problems Arsenal have suffered in the start of the 2023/24 campaign.

“It’s worth pointing out that I’ve been playing a lot of roles at Arsenal.

“Obviously when I chose to move from City to Arsenal, Edu and Arteta spoke to me, and I made it clear that I’d like to play 9,” Jesus said.

Meanwhile, Arsenal unexpectedly defeated Man City in their last game before the international break.

The Gunners are now seated at the second spot on the league table, with only goal difference separating them from Tottenham.
