Arsenal defender, Ben White, has reacted to the idea of him becoming the Gunners next captain.

This comes as Arsenal are currently without a captain after Gabon international Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was stripped of the captaincy armband earlier this month.

Whites, in his statement, tipped himself of becoming the Gunners next coach as he stressed that he has some of the needed qualities.

He made this known ahead of Arsenal’s away Premier League tie against Norwich City on Boxing Day.

On the suggestions he could be Arsenal captain, White told Talksport: “I’ve never done it before, but it would obviously be an absolute honour to be captain.

“I think I have got some of the qualities to be captain but will see in time.”

Aubameyang has not played for Arsenal since their Premier League defeat to Everton on December 6.

His future at Arsenal is in doubt after coach Arteta dropped him from his squad due to a ‘disciplinary breach’.

As of the time of this report, Arteta is yet to name a new captain as a replacement for the Gabonese.
