Arsenal are likely to bid goodbye to Eddie Nketiah this summer transfer window.

This comes as L’Équipe reported that Nketiah is close to joining Olympique de Marseille on a loan deal with a mandatory buy out option.

The French Ligue 1 side are planning to revamp majority of their starting lineup and this has greatly accelerated negotiations for the 25-year-old England international.

Recall that Nketiah made 27 appearances and scored five goals last season for Arsenal in the Premier League.

He is said to have reached personal agreement with Marseille.

Details about his bid claimed Marseille by president Pablo Longoria, are seeking to defer payment for the transfer by a year through the loan structure.

Nketiah has also considered the prospect of playing for Marseille, who recently sold former Arsenal captain, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Al-Qadsiah.

Arsenal are, however, yet to confirm details about Marseille’s interest in Nketiah.

Meanwhile, Marseille have been busy this summer as they have already secured the services of Danish midfielder Pierre-Emile Höjbjerg.

They are in talks with Crystal Palace for winger Ismaïla Sarr. They are also on the search for a replacement for goalkeeper Pau Lopez, who is close to joining Serie A side Como who recently unveiled Cesc Fabregas as their permanent manager.
