Arsenal have been linked with a potential summer move for Aston Villa playmaker Morgan Rogers. However, a key condition that initially opened the door to a transfer now appears to have changed—potentially complicating the Gunners’ pursuit of the talented midfielder.

Rogers, 22, was signed by Aston Villa for around £15 million from Middlesbrough, and he has quickly proven himself as a Premier League-level talent. In his first full season at Villa Park, he made 54 appearances, scoring 14 goals and providing 15 assists. His performances also earned him a senior England debut during the 2024/25 campaign, further boosting his profile.

Arsenal’s reported interest in Rogers surfaced as the summer transfer window opened, with the club exploring attacking reinforcements. The North London side, who are aiming to strengthen their squad for another title challenge, identified Rogers as a potential addition due to his creativity, versatility, and growing top-flight experience.

Earlier rumours were fuelled by Aston Villa’s failure to qualify for the UEFA Champions League, which had led to speculation that top-performing players like Rogers could be open to a move. However, recent developments suggest Villa are now keen to keep the midfielder, with reports indicating that a £55 million valuation has been placed on him.

With Villa’s stance hardening, Arsenal may now need to reassess their options or meet a steep price tag to move forward. Rogers remains a player of interest, but a deal is now far from straightforward.
