Arsenal are reportedly set to offer defender Rob Holding a new long term deal that will see his contract at the club expire in his thirties.

Mikel Arteta and his young team have been going through some difficult times in the past few days but things have taken a new shape ever since they beat Chelsea at the Emirates stadium.

Rob Holding played a role in that victory and has not looked back ever since then as David Luiz is still out of the team.

The 25-year-old has now convinced Mikel Arteta of his potential just months after he
was close to leaving Arsenal for Newcastle United.

According to The Athletic, Arsenal board are eager to give him a pat at the back by offering him an improved deal that will tie him down beyond his current contract.

Holding whose contract is set to expire at the end of 2022-23 campaign have been seen as the future of Arsenal backline and the board are not ready to let him go.

Mikel has already gained the trust of his players as they’ve been putting in impressive performance ever since they won Chelsea and the Spaniard will be hoping they continue in such form.
