Arsenal could receive an unexpected financial boost this summer if Aston Villa follow through on their reported interest in former Gunners striker Folarin Balogun.

While Mikel Arteta’s side continue to be linked with several high-profile transfer targets, including Sandro Tonali, Morgan Rogers and Julian Alvarez, the club may also benefit from outgoing business without having to negotiate a deal themselves.

Balogun, who left Arsenal for Monaco in 2023, is attracting renewed attention after impressing on the international stage with the United States at the 2026 World Cup. The striker has registered two goals and an assist during the tournament, helping to increase interest in his services ahead of the summer transfer window.

According to reports, Balogun is open to returning to the Premier League, with Aston Villa among the clubs monitoring his situation. Monaco are believed to value the 24-year-old at around £43 million following another productive season in France, where he continued to showcase his goalscoring ability.

Crucially for Arsenal, the deal that took Balogun to Monaco included a 17.5 percent sell-on clause. Should the French club receive their full asking price, the North London side would be entitled to approximately £7.5 million from the transfer.

Although Monaco are not actively seeking to part ways with the forward, growing interest from England could test their resolve in the coming weeks. For Arsenal, any additional funds generated through the sell-on clause could prove useful as they prepare for what is expected to be a significant summer of recruitment and squad development.
