Arsenal Set €100m Price Tag on Riccardo Calafiori Amid Real Madrid Interest

Arsenal have reportedly placed a €100 million (£86.3m) price tag on defender Riccardo Calafiori as speculation continues over interest from Real Madrid.

The Italian international has emerged as a target for Madrid during the summer transfer window, with new manager Jose Mourinho keen to strengthen his defensive options. Mourinho is believed to be looking for a versatile defender capable of operating both at centre-back and left-back, a profile that matches Calafiori’s skill set.

Reports linking the Arsenal star with a move to the Spanish giants surfaced earlier this summer. However, Madrid have already reinforced their defence with the arrivals of Marc Cucurella and Ibrahima Konaté. Despite those additions, Mourinho is still thought to be interested in bringing in another defender who can provide flexibility across the back line.

According to Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, Arsenal have no intention of parting ways with Calafiori. Both manager Mikel Arteta and sporting director Andrea Berta reportedly view the defender as an important part of the club’s long-term plans.

The report adds that Arsenal would only consider entering negotiations if an offer in the region of €100 million was submitted. Such a fee would reflect both Calafiori’s importance to the squad and the club’s determination to retain one of their most highly rated defenders.

For now, Arsenal remain firmly committed to keeping the 24-year-old at the Emirates Stadium despite growing interest from Madrid.
