Arsenal are reportedly eyeing a move for Leicester City’s attacking midfielder, James Maddison as they continue to strengthen their squad.

Mikel Arteta is in search of an attacking midfielder as the Spaniard is eager to replace Martin Odegaard who returned to Real Madrid after a successful loan spell.

Though reports claimed Arsenal were willing to sign Odegaard on another loan deal but the Norway international believes he can play an important role under Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid.

Maddison has now become their new target as Mikel Arteta believes he’s fit to play in his team.

According to Sky Sports News, Arsenal are interested in the England international but they might be forced to leave the deal as Leicester could ultimately price him out of an exit.

Leicester City have an edge in any negotiation about Maddison as he recently signed a new long-term deal with the Foxes last August.

However, there are indication that he wants to leave King Power Stadium during the current window but Mikel Arteta’s side would need to offer in excess of £70m to convince Leicester to sell their star man.

Maddison was one of Leicester City’s top performer last season as he scored 11 times and contributed 10 assists in 42 appearances for Brendan Rodgers’s side.
