Arsenal ready to terminate this player’s contract

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta no longer has use for Nicolas Pepe in his squad as he has told the Ivorian star he would no longer play for the Gunners.

A report via the UK Mirror revealed that the Gunners hierarchy are trying to agree a pay-off with the Ivorian.

Recall that the 28-year-old moved to Arsenal from Lille in a £72 million deal four years ago, becoming their record signing.

He, however, scored only 27 goals in 112 matches for the Gunners and has since fallen Arteta’s pecking order.

Pepe spent last season on loan at Nice and has been unable to find a new club this summer.

With less than 12 months left on his current deal, Pepe stands no chance of playing for the Gunners anymore.

He might end up on the bench as he wouldn’t be able to complete a transfer until January unless his contract is terminated.

A possible move to the Saudi Pro League before their transfer window closes this Friday is unlikely, while Turkish clubs can still sign players until September 15.
