Arsenal have reportedly taken a major step towards signing Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers after reaching an agreement in principle over the player’s personal terms, as the Gunners continue to strengthen their squad ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Rogers has emerged as Mikel Arteta’s top attacking target, with the Arsenal boss viewing the England international as the ideal player to add greater creativity, versatility and goal threat to his frontline. Although primarily seen as a left winger capable of competing with or replacing Gabriel Martinelli, Rogers is also highly regarded for his ability to operate as an attacking midfielder when needed.

The 23-year-old has enjoyed a remarkable rise since joining Aston Villa from Middlesbrough in February 2024. His impressive performances have established him as one of the Premier League’s brightest attacking talents, contributing 31 goals and 29 assists in 125 appearances across all competitions for Villa.

According to reports, Arsenal have made significant progress in negotiations with Rogers’ representatives, with discussions over personal terms advancing positively in recent days. One source claims there is already an agreement in principle on a five-year contract, suggesting the player is keen on a move to the Emirates Stadium.

While Rogers is currently away with England at the World Cup, Arsenal remain focused on completing the deal once international commitments allow. The north London club are also continuing to pursue Newcastle United captain Bruno Guimarães, with Arteta eager to reinforce both his attack and midfield as Arsenal look to mount another serious challenge for major honours next season.
