Former Arsenal star, Kevin Campbell has applauded the club over their moves for Ajax star Jurrien Timber this summer transfer window.

According to Campbell, Timber has the qualities to play for any top team in Europe.

The Gunners are closing in on sealing their deal for Timber after agreeing on personal terms with the Gunners and will reportedly pay £40 million to Ajax for the defender.

Speaking about Timber, Cambell said on the Highbury Squad YouTube channel (via HITC): “He could play for any team, any team, at the top, any top team.”

Timber was impressive for the Dutch club last season as he scored two goals and created two assists in 47 appearances across competitions for Ajax.

He is expected to arrive at Emirate Stadium alongside Declan Rice, who will be joining the Gunners from West Ham this summer.

All of these come as the Gunners plan to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season when they will play in the Champions League.
