Arsenal are edging closer to completing two important transfer deals as Mikel Arteta looks to strengthen his squad ahead of the new Premier League season.

The Gunners have already secured the signing of Piero Hincapié this summer, but further additions appear to be on the horizon with negotiations progressing for players currently involved at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

One of those targets is reported to be Borussia Mönchengladbach midfielder Manu Koné, who is understood to have agreed personal terms over a potential move to the Emirates Stadium. While discussions between the clubs are still required before a deal can be finalised, the agreement with the player is viewed as a significant step towards completing the transfer.

Meanwhile, Arsenal continue to work behind the scenes on other arrivals despite the disruption caused by the World Cup. With many leading players focused on international duty, several negotiations have been delayed, but clubs are expected to accelerate their business once the tournament reaches its conclusion.

Reports also suggest that representatives for another Arsenal target have travelled for transfer talks, indicating that the club’s recruitment plans are gathering momentum. Arteta and sporting director Andrea Berta are determined to strengthen key areas of the squad while also managing potential departures during what is expected to be a busy summer window.

With pre-season preparations fast approaching, Arsenal are eager to finalise new signings as quickly as possible. The coming weeks are expected to be crucial as the club looks to build a squad capable of challenging for major honours both domestically and in Europe during the 2026/27 campaign.
