Deal Completed: West Brom confirm signing former Chelsea defender

West Bromwich confirmed signing former Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic.

Branislav Ivanovic has signed a one-year contract, having been a free agent leaving Zenit St Petersburg end of last season.

The 36-year-old joins after the Baggies returned to the Premier League with a 3-0 defeat to Leicester on Sunday.

Branislav Ivanovic said on the club’s official website that the Premier League is the best league in the world.

I have to challenge myself and I am prepared for the test. I am truly happy to be back playing in the Premier League.

I trust I will be successful here. I have a lot of ambition and I need to show a a lot of things. I’ll give everything for the team.

Branislav Ivanovic won three Premier League titles during his glittering career at Stamford Bridge, three FA Cups, the Champions League, Europa League – The 36-year-old scored the winner in the Europa league final against Benfica in 2013 – and the League Cup during nine years at Chelsea.
