Deal CLOSE: Bayer Leverkusen playmaker breakthrough

Following weeks of long conversations with respect to Kai Havert’s likely move to Stamford Bridge, Chelsea and Bayer Leverkusen are very close to a breakthrough.

The two clubs were negotiating Kai Havertz’s price, with Bayer Leverkusen allegedly waiting for £80 million.

Chelsea are currently supposed to have the option to meet this figure because of a series of add-ons and conditions embedded into the deal. As per Ivisionsport, this gets the two teams a lot more like a possible final deal.

Having just signed  Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner this summer, Frank Lampard remains interested to add elite offensive talent to his team, which Kai Havertz certainly is, in spite of just having turned 21 before this summer.

The 21-year-old attacking midfielder has been one of the outstanding young players in the Bundesliga in the previous two seasons, scoring 17 and 12 goals respectively.

Long conversations have delayed, however it currently appears to be that progress is coming.
