Chelsea transfer boost as Bayer Leverkusen find Roma star as Kai Havertz replacement

CHELSEA’S move for Kai Havertz might be edging nearer after Bayer Leverkusen allegedly stepped up their enthusiasm for a replacement.

AS Roma forward Patrik Schick has become the subject of a transfer battle between the Bayer Leverkusen and RB Leipzig.

After Patrik Schick spent the season on loan at the Champions League semi-finalists, the talented forward is wanted in a permanent move.

AS Roma set £22.5m price tag for the 24-year-old, as indicated by report in Germany, with Bayer Leverkusen also taking an unmistakable fascination.

Patrik Schick scored ten goals for RB Leipzig in 2019/20, played in Tuesday’s 3-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.

If Bayer Leverkusen could sign Patrik Schick this summer, that would help compensate for the loss of Kai Havertz.

Chelsea remain resolved to sign Kai Havertz but are believed to be attempting to thump down his transfer fee.

Reports in Germany recommend an offer of £72m is on the table but Bayer are resolved to adhere to their £90m price tag.

However, Kai Havertz is said to want a move with Chelsea ready to offer Champions League football and a better pay.

Deal Almost Done: Bayer Leverkusen playmaker move to Chelsea set to make history

Chelsea has a deadline of August 28 to complete the signing of Bayer Leverkusen playmaker.

Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are depicted as prone to come in for Kai Havertz the next summer if Chelsea fail to get him now, by which time his fee might be generously lower ahead of his contract terminating in 2022.
