Gyokeres reacts to being compared to Henry as he takes over No 14 shirt

Arsenal new signing Viktor Gyokeres has reacted to being compared to the Gunners iconic player Thierry Henry after taking over his No 14 shirt
Recall that Gyokeres completed his transfer in a deal worth £64m (73m euros) to Arsenal last weekend, ending the Gunners’ hunt for a striker to help them win trophy since 2020.
Henry who scored 228 goals in 377 appearances is known for adorning Arsenal’s number 14 shirt during his football career.
Speaking ahead of Arsenal’s match against Tottenham Hotspur in Hong Kong on Thursday, Gyokeres said it was an “easy” choice to make when selecting his squad number.
“Of course I know about the history,” said Gyokeres.
“To be honest there weren’t so many numbers available. There weren’t too many to pick from.
“But of course, that one was available. So when I knew that it was an easy choice to take it.”
During his time at the Emirates, Henry won two Premier League titles, three FA Cups and the Premier League Golden Boot four times.
But the Gunners new striker is not worried about any comparisons that may come between him and Henry, stating that he is at Arsenal to do his own thing.
