Ratcliffe explains reason he wouldn’t be the one to sack Ten Hag

Manchester United co-owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe has addressed Erik ten Hag’s future at Old Trafford, stressing that the decision isn’t on him.

Ratcliffe disclosed in a statement that he won’t be the one to decide on Ten Hag’s future at Old Trafford.

It is no longer news that Ten Hag has come under intense pressure at Old Trafford after a run of four games without a win.

There loss to Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League and recent draw against Porto in the Champions League have seen fans and supporters calling for the Dutchman’s sack at Old Trafford.

Ten Hag and the Red Devils will return to action on Sunday when they face a crunch fixture at Aston Villa and they will hope to bounce back with a win.

However, Ratcliffe, who is expected to watch the game at Villa Park, has said it will not be his call if the Red Devils decide to make a change.

When asked by the BBC if he still has faith in Ten Hag, Ratcliffe who refused to answer that question, said he likes Ten Hag.

The Red Devils co-owner said he thinks the Dutchman is a good coach but at the end of the day it’s not his call, but the management team running Manchester United that have to decide how best they run the team in many different respects.
