Former Manchester United and Liverpool star, Michael Owen in a recent statement reacted to Arsenal’s recent 2-2 draw vs Man City.

Owen singled out Arsenal attacking midfielder, Leandro Trossard for criticism as he blamed him for his red card in the first half of the Gunners’ clash with Manchester City at the Etihad.

The highlights from the match was the moment Trossard was shown a yellow card in the 15th minute for delaying to restart the game and a second yellow in stoppage time for kicking the ball away after the referee’s whistle.

Owen while speaking on Premier League Production at half-time said that according to the law, Trossard’s action deserved a yellow card as everyone knows the law now and it’s consistent with what referees have been doing this season.

“I don’t think he has much of a complaint, despite Mikel Arteta being furious about it,” Owen said.

Recall that the match between Man City and Arsenal was an intense one with the Citizens taking the lead through Erling Haaland but Arsenal responded through summer signings, Riccardo Calafiori and Gabriel Magalhães.

The two sides went into the match after their goalless draws against their opponents in the UEFA Champions League.
