UCL: Chelsea target to be available when Napoli face Barcelona

The Champions League returned this week with Italian side Napoli playing against Spanish club Barcelona.

Ahead of the match, Napoli caretaker coach, Francesco Calzona, gave a positive update on Victor Osimhen.

Recall that the Chelsea target was not a part of Napoli’s squad that played last Saturday’s Serie A clash against Genoa.

The Nigerian striker was not deemed fit enough to partake in the game after returning from the Africa Cup of Nations with a minor muscular problem and fatigue.

Calzona, who was named as replacement for manager Walter Mazzarri on Tuesday revealed that the forward was available during full training on Tuesday.

“Osimhen trained with the team, naturally it was not a long session, as we had many things to do, but he was working at full tempo,” Calzona told the media ahead of the game.

“All the players will be evaluated after tomorrow’s session.”
