Man Utd told to hijack move for Chelsea midfielder from Man City
Former Manchester United star Rio Ferdinand has sent a message to the club about a player they could sign this summer.
Ferdinand advised the Red Devils to join the race for Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic to hijack him from the EPL champions and city rivals Manchester City.
According to Ferdinand, Kovacic would make a better addition to the squad than Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong.
Chelsea midfielder Kovacic is in the final year of his contract with the Blues and Man City have opened talks with him about a summer transfer.

Ferdinand believes it would be too “complicated” for Man United to sign De Jong.
“It sounds too difficult and too complicated [to sign De Jong], move on.
“I think Kovacic has got a year left. I like him… He’s different to what we’ve got,” Ferdinand said on his YouTube channel, FIVE.
