Inter Milan Chief Executive Officer, Beppe Marotta in a statement spoke about Romelu Lukaku’s interest to remain in the Italian Serie A.

According to Marotta, Lukaku does not want to return to Chelsea this summer.

The Belgian striker is currently on loan at Inter Milan after he joined them from Chelsea, for whom he re-signed in 2021.

Lukaku during his return to EPL endured a difficult spell at Stamford Bridge last season and had to return to Inter Milan on loan last summer.

There are speculations Lukaku could be offered the chance to revive his career under incoming manager, Mauricio Pochettino but Marotta said he could stay in Italy instead.

Speaking to Rai Radio1, he said: “Lukaku loves Inter, he wants to stay with us. He feels very good here.

“Negotiations with Chelsea? He’s on loan until June 30, then we still don’t know Chelsea’s plans. We’re waiting for that.”
