Possibly my last Champions League match: Silva speaks on Chelsea’s exit
Chelsea ace defender and Brazil star Thiago Silva has reacted to the Blues’ exit from the Uefa Champions League as he expressed his disappointment over the way they exited the tournament.
Recall that Real Madrid left kicked out the Blues with a 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge and a 4-0 aggregate victory.
Silva in his statement also hinted it was possibly his last match in the Champions League as Chelsea wouldn’t be playing in the tournament next season.
‘It’s a bit of frustration, a bit of disappointment, a bit of anger,’ said Thiago.
‘It’s possibly my last match in the Champions League, and it’s sad to finish like that. The frustration is there, above all with how the game went.’
With the hopes of winning a third Champions League now over, Silva urged Chelsea players to focus on their next few matches in the EPL.
‘We have seven matches left, and we need to look for the victory in each of them,’ he stressed.
‘When we wear the Chelsea shirt we have to give everything to win. It’s difficult but we must continue, raise our heads and keep working.’
