Chelsea’s top defender linked with return to former club

Chelsea ace defender and Brazil star Thiago Silva has been linked with a return to his former club Fluminense.

According to the reports, the Brazilian club are planning to bring back Silva for the 2024 season.

Recall that Silva arrived at Chelsea from French club PSG on a free transfer in the summer transfer window of 2020.

Following his arrival, he has lifted three trophies, including the Champions League with Chelsea.

Chilean journalist Jose Tomas Fernandez Pumarino in a statement said the Brazilian club hope to lure the veteran defender back to his home country when his contract with Chelsea ends next year.

He tweeted: “Thiago Silva, with a contract with Chelsea until the end of next season, is one of Fluminense’s goals for the 2024 season and they are already working on the formula to achieve said signing in January or July.”

Silva recently signed a new one-year contract at Stamford Bridge till the summer of 2024.
