Potter delighted over Chelsea win vs Leeds United
Chelsea managed to emerge the winner during their game against Leeds United on Saturday thanks to a goal from Wesley Fofana just after half-time.
Fofana’s goal came after Kai Havertz had forced a good save from the goalkeeper and Joao Felix struck the woodwork in the first half.
Speaking after the game, Graham Potter was delighted with having rewarded the supporters with a win following a difficult run of results.
The manager explained the nervous finish to the game because of the importance of securing the result for the Blues.
‘We’re delighted with the win, that’s for sure, because we’ve had a tough period,’ said Potter via Chelsea website.
‘I’m delighted for the players, delighted for the supporters, because they’ve had to suffer, so it was pleasing to get the win.
‘We started the game well and created some opportunities. Playing against Leeds is always tough, they’ve got a high intensity. When we got the goal it was a pleasing moment for us all and then the second half was probably a little bit about that we had something to lose, which is where you’d expect us to be given the run we had.’
