Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher has turned down a £45million move to Everton in the January transfer window.

The Blues are willing to let the midfielder leave before the January transfer window ends on Tuesday night if they can get a deal with Benfica for Argentina midfielder Enzo Fernandez.

Everton, on the other hand, are keen bolstering their squad after confirming the appointment of Sean Dyche as their new head coach on Monday.

A report via MailOnline revealed the Toffees have tabled a bid of £40 million, plus a further £5 million in add-ons, in a bid to sign Gallagher before Tuesday’s transfer deadline.

But the report added that Gallagher has turned down a move to Everton as he would only consider an offer from clubs in the top six on the EPL table.

With hours left to the close of the January window, Chelsea are yet to seal a move for Fernandez which means Gallagher may stay put at Stamford Bridge.
