Former Chelsea star, John Terry, has applauded the team youngster, Lewis Hall, despite the Blues’ Carabao Cup 2-0 defeat to Manchester City on Wednesday night.

Terry in a post via his Twitter handle lauded Hall for his brilliant first-half performance against the Citizens.

Recall that Hall got a nod to make his second senior start for Chelsea against Pep Guardiola’s side on Wednesday at the Etihad Stadium.

During the match, the youngster made 21 out of 27 accurate passes and created two shots on target.

One of the shots which could have been converted was the moment Hall broke into the Man City box after dropping a shoulder to make space away from Rico Lewis.

However, he was only able to send his shot straight at Man City goalkeeper Stefan Ortega.

Aside from this, Hall also won six of seven ground duels and defended well during the match.

Man City were able to win the match thanks to goals from Riyad Mahrez and Julian Alvarez.

Reacting to Hall’s performance, Terry tweeted: “What a great first half performance from Lewis Hall.”
