Chelsea star named flop of the season

Former Aston Villa star Gabriel Agbonlahor has named Chelsea’s Kai Havertz the Premier League flop barely a few games into the new season.

Havertz, who joined Chelsea from German side Bayern Leverkusen in a deal worth £70 million in 2020 established himself as a first-team starter at Chelsea, as he went on to lift three trophies with the club.

However, the 23-year-old German striker has been an underwhelming signing for the Blues despite scoring the famous 2020-2021 UEFA Champions League final winner for them.

So far this season, he has scored just once in all competitions.

Speaking to talkSPORT, Agbonlahor criticized Havertz for his poor finishing in front of goal as he labelled the forward a flop.

Agbonlahor said, “Last season, everyone was like Havertz, he’s going to be exciting next season, he’s got used to the season in the PL, but this season he looks lost.

“He’s not using his strength and his size. He’s getting frustrated and he’s missing chances he should not be missing.”
