EPL: Why Liverpool need to be worried

Liverpool went head to head against Man Utd on Monday night at Old Trafford. While many had tipped the Reds to emerge winners of the game, they suffered a 2-1 defeat as the Red Devils won all three points.

Following the Monday defeat, former Man Utd star Roy Keane said Liverpool have reasons to be worried.

According to Keane, the on-pitch argument between Virgil van Dijk and James Milner during the game had more to it.

Man United gave Liverpool their first league defeat of 2022, thanks to goals from Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford.

Van Dijk remained at a spot when the Red Devils took the lead and could not stop Sancho after Milner had gone on the ground to make a block.

Keane spoke on Van Dijk’s performance in the first half of the game.

And the former Red Devils’ captain Keane thinks this had more to it.

“I’d be worried if I was Klopp with what I’ve seen tonight,” the former United captain said on Sky Sports.

“Defensively [they were] very, very casual, going back to the Fulham game, Van Dijk even the other night against Palace, I thought he could’ve done better.

“Tonight, we made the point about him arguing with James Milner, I know that can happen but it just seemed a bit more than that, more than the normal falling out with a player.”
