EPL: Who will leave Chelsea between Lukaku and Tuchel?

There seems to be a struggle of control going on at Chelsea between German manager Thomas Tuchel and Belgium International Romelu Lukaku.

Reacting to the situation at Stamford Bridge, former Liverpool star Jamie Carragher has stressed that it would be easier for the Blues to let go of Lukaku than to lose a top coach like Tuchel.

The whole drama at Stamford Bridge started after Lukaku’s controversial interview with Sky Sports Italia, where he expressed his dissatisfaction with his situation at Stamford Bridge, saying he wanted to return to Inter Milan.

In what seems to be a response, Tuchel went on to drop the Belgian striker during his side’s 2-2 draw with Liverpool on Sunday.

There are reports that Lukaku could force his transfer from Chelsea during the ongoing transfer window.

“In the past, the players have always won against the manager. Right now, I think in terms of top managers in world football, I’d say there’s a dearth of them,” Carragher told Sky Sports.

“We’ve got three in the Premier League – Jurgen Klopp, Pep Guardiola and Tuchel.

“But look at the problems Man Utd are having right now in terms of their managerial situation. They still don’t know who they’re going to get at the end of the season or who is out there who can compete with these three.

“Right now, for Chelsea, even though they’ve had great success changing managers over the last 10-15 years.

“I actually think it may be easier to replace Lukaku than the manager they’ve got. They’ve got a top-class manager right now.”
