Chelsea midfielder and Italy international Jorginho has been at the centre of massive criticism after the Blues’ defeat on Saturday vs West Ham in the EPL.

Former Aston Villa striker, Gabby Agbonlahor while reaching to Jorginho performance during the Blues’ Premier League 3-2 defeat to West Ham, called the Italian Ballon d’Or nomination to question.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Agbonlahor slammed Jorginho’s role during Chelsea’s defeat to West Ham as he wondered why the Italy international could make this year’s Ballon d’Or top 3.

“Jorginho, I don’t know how he could be in the Ballon d’Or running. He gave away that goal and it is just his complacency,” Agbonlahor said.

“Chelsea have got a bit comfortable in the way they have been playing.

“To just receive the ball where he did, short pass to Mendy and put the goalkeeper in trouble and then Mendy will get the blame.

“Jorginho was also at fault for the [Jadon] Sancho goal at Manchester United, I think he is getting a bit too complacent back there.”

The Italian is expected to return to the midfield on Wednesday night when Chelsea face Zenit in the UCL.
