Liverpool set to lose the main man pulling the strings at Anfield

Premier League side, Liverpool are set to lose one of their key personality at the club, with sporting director Michael Edwards set to leave next season.

Jurgen Klopp might have been making things happen on the football pitch but a lot of work are being done behind the scenes by some people.

One of those people that has been making critical decision at the club is sporting director Michael Edwards.

Edwards arrived in Liverpool in 2016 and have turned the club’s fortune around.

He has been able to attract important players into the team with as he was heavily involved in the signings of Virgil Van Dijk, Mohamed Salah, Andrew Robertson, Allison, Fabinho and many more.

Edwards also negotiated the deal that saw Liverpool sell Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona, a move that saw the reds make an astonishing £113million profit on the Brazilian.

Unfortunately for Liverpool, Edwards is set to move on from the club at the end of his contract next summer after ten years at Liverpool, according to David Ornstein of The Athletic.

The reports claimed Edwards is expected to be replaced by current assistant sporting director Julian Ward
