Liverpool are reportedly in the race to sign Florentina forward Federico Chiesa this summer amid interest from another top club.

Chiesa was one of Italy’s top performers during their Euro 2020 triumph earlier this month, and he has attracted interest from top clubs.

The likes of Chelsea are reportedly willing to sign him this summer with Juventus also set to make his move permanent in a €60m (£51.44m) deal after being impressed by the youngster during his loan spell.

However, according to Italian outlet Calciomercato, Liverpool have made contact with the Serie A giants over a possible move for the 23-year-old this summer.

The report claimed that Jurgen Klopp’s charges lead a group of Premier League clubs interested in acquiring the Italian international’s services.

Florentina’s asking price might possibly be exceeding €80m (£68.6m), but Liverpool are willing to beat down the price so they can add the Italian to their squad.

Chiesa had an excellent spell on loan at Juventus, bagging 15 goals and providing 11 assists in 46 appearances for the Old Lady throughout 2020/21.
