One player Chelsea need to sign to be considered a serious contender in the EPL
While Chelsea new manager, Thomas Tuchel had a few days ago stated that he aims to win the Premier League title and not just finish in the top four, the Blues have however been unable to prove it beyond a reasonable doubt that they should be considered a serious contender.
This was visible during their recent game vs. Leed s United on Saturday.
While many had expected Chelsea to win all three points and cement their spot in the top four they were instead held to a goalless draw by Leeds United.
Chelsea’s attack was led by Kai Havertz and many opportunities in front of goal came begging for a top finisher.
However, Rio Ferdinand, a former Man Utd has noted that the Blues need to sign a new No.9 this summer.
And according to Ferdinard, one player that can help them is £90 million-rated Erling Haaland.
He noted that an ageing Olivier Giroud and Tammy Abraham is not enough for the Blues to be considered a serious team.
‘He’s not a young Giroud, he’s at a different stage of his career. I don’t think he expects to play every game,’ Ferdinand told BT Sport.
‘I think Tammy will be putting himself in there but again he has to get fit and stay fit,’ he added.
