My goal drought at Chelsea is the worst in my career – Timo Werner
Chelsea summer signing, Timo Werner has opened on his stay at Stamford Bridge so far.
Werner in a statement revealed he struggled at Chelsea when he first arrived as he disclosed that his goal drought at Chelsea is the worst that has ever happened to him in his career as he stated that he was not happy with what happened to him.
However, since the arrival of his fellow countryman, Thomas Tuchel at Chelsea, the German player revealed he is feeling the flow again as he said ‘Werner is back.’
The arrival of Tuchel has since Werner score once and he has provided three assists in five appearances.
During an interview with Sky Sport, Werner said, “The smile wasn’t on my face all the time. You have to keep smiling, that’s the most important thing because when you are not happy and you don’t enjoy football, and you are always angry or mad, you can’t go back to moments where you can play good football.”
Chelsea signed Werner from RB Leipzig for £47.5m in the summer after he scored 95 goals in 159 games for the German side, a feat the Blues hope he would be able to repeat in the premier league.
