On Monday, Chelsea in an official statement via the football club website announced the sack of Frank Lampard as the club’s coach.

The announcement came as a shock to many especially because the Blues won their last match against Luton Town in the FA Cup.

However, the recent win was not enough to keep Lampard at Stamford Bridge and he was shown the exit.

In a recent statement, Lampard has finally broken silence on his sack at the Bridge.

Lampard who was in charge at Chelsea was dismissed in less than two years following a run of five defeats in their last eight Premier League outings which has seen the Blues drop out of the top four in the EPL table.

The English coach in his statement via his social media page revealed it was a huge privilege and an honour to manage Chelsea, a club that has been a big part of his life.

Lampard also appreciated the fans, players as well as his coaching team at Stamford Bridge.

He, however, expressed his disappointment that he did not to have the time this season to take the club forward and bring it to the next level.

Former PSG coach, Thomas Tuchel is expected to take over at Chelsea.
