The Three Lions of England have managed to remain in the Euro 24 tournament and would be facing the Netherlands in the semifinal.

Ahead for the faceoff, former Chelsea midfielder and manager, Frank Lampard, has sent a message to Gareth Southgate about the team.

Lampard singled out Manchester Utd defender Luke Shaw, who he said must start in the semi-final against the Netherlands if he is fit.

Recall that England managed to defeat Switzerland on penalties to qualify for the final four.

Despite going through, Gareth Southgate’s men have not been all that impressive in the ongoing tournament in Germany.

Their game against the Swiss team was trailed with 15 minutes left after Breel Embolo’s late goal before Bukayo Saka’s stunning strike drew the game level.

Shaw, who had been recovering from a long-term hamstring problem, came in as a substitute in the second half and provided England with more balance and control on the left-hand side.

While speaking with the BBC, Lampard said he think if Shaw is fit he should start against Switzerland.

Speaking about Shaw’s role, Lampard said he gave England that balance. He looked pretty good when he came on.
