Atletico Madrid manager responds to rumours linking them with Chelsea defender

Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has finally responded to the rumour linking his team to out-of-favour Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso.

Marcos Alonso has not been able to break into Frank Lampard’s team this season as the arrival of Ben Chilwell has seen him limited to third choice left-back with Emerson ahead of him.

His situation has been monitored by top European teams with Atletico Madrid rumoured to be one of them as the La Liga table toppers are eager to add their strength to win the league this season.

Diego Simeone who is not a stranger to Chelsea as both teams have had deals in the past has now shared his thoughts on the rumours.

When probed on the rumours linking Atletico with Alonso, Simeone stated that he will not be talking about what is being said from the outside.

According to Simeone, all what he’s thinking about is their next game as they have a rival who always compete very well, they have not had positive results.

Alonso has not been just linked with a move to Atletico Madrid but also to Inter Milan where he will be having the opportunity of reuniting with Antonio Conte.
