Transfer Deal: Arsenal to pay asking price for Chelsea target

Arsenal have supposedly been told by Villarreal that it will take £45m to prise centre-back Pau Torres away from the club.

The Premier League giants are believed to be one of various sides keen on signing the young defender, alongside Manchester United and Real Madrid.

Reports from Spain propose that Real Madrid are the leaders to sign the 23-year-old, but Arsenal are also still in the rushing to capture Pau Torres.

Nonetheless, it is asserted that Villarreal have no goal of letting Spain defender Pau Torres leave except if his release clause is set off.

That would mean Arsenal making the defender their joint-fourth most-costly signing, alongside Thomas Partey and behind just Nicolas Pepe and Alexandre Lacazette.
