The Premier league giants new forward Edinson Cavani has been given the iconic number seven shirt at Old Trafford following his very late arrival in England.

Edinson Cavani joined Manchester United as a free agent on deadline day following his departure from Paris Saint-Germain, with the 33-year-old signing a two-year deal at Old Trafford.

Presently, the Red Devils have reported that the Uruguay forward will wear the well known ‘7’ during his time with Manchester United – a shirt that has been worn by some of Manchester United’s most celebrated players down the years.

George Best, David Beckham, Cristiano Ronaldo and Eric Cantona have all worn the shirt at Old Trafford, albeit later wearers of the shirt have not enjoyed any accomplishment with the Premier League giants.

Memphis Depay, Angel Di Maria and Alexis Sanchez – the last of whom was the latest player to put on the number seven shirt at Manchester United – all suffered disappointing spells at Old Trafford.
