Arsenal to battle RB Leipzig to sign Malang Sarr

The Gunners have made a methodology with the expectation of Malang Sarr this summer, but should ward off stiff competition from RB Leipzig if they are to make a deal.

Arsenal’s funds are set to be constrained this summer and they’ve just wrapped up perpetual deals for less expensive choices Cedric Soares and Pablo Mari, while David Luiz also signed a one-year extension at the club.

Mikel Arteta wants to sign ex-OGC Nice defender Malang Sarr this summer, as a cheaper option and has risen as a possible target after the youngster let his contract run out at the French club.

Transfer News: Wolfsburg forward wouldn’t rule out Arsenal move

Malang Sarr is set to be in significant demand and has drawn the consideration of Julian Nagelsmann’s Leipzig just as the Arsenal, with an entire host of different clubs said to be excited about a deal for the defender.

Regardless of his age, the talented defender has many appearances for Nice after his introduction in 2016 as a 17-year-old. Malang Sarr played multiple times in Ligue 1 this season and his ability to have as impact of a back three makes him a charming choice in the market for Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta.

Mikel Arteta has deployed a 3-4-3 recently and despite the fact that it is not yet clear whether it’s his ideal long term plan, it’s a system that would make Malang Sarr’s potential move somewhat simpler after consistently playing on the left side of a back three under Patrick Vieira.
