Chelsea Face Fresh Competition as Serie A Giants Battle for England Defender

Chelsea could finally be set to part ways with Trevoh Chalobah this summer, with Inter Milan and Como emerging as the two leading contenders for the defender’s signature.

After several transfer windows in which Chalobah was linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge, the England international repeatedly fought his way back into the first-team picture. This summer, however, the situation appears to have changed, with both the club and player open to a permanent separation.

Chalobah is attracting strong interest from Italy, where Serie A clubs Inter Milan and Como are eager to secure his services. Como have spent weeks trying to convince the versatile centre-back to join their ambitious project, but their hopes have been complicated by Inter’s late entry into the race.

The Nerazzurri’s interest has reportedly shifted the balance, with Chalobah now believed to favour a move to the San Siro. Inter’s status as one of Italy’s biggest clubs and their ability to compete for major honours has made them an attractive destination for the Chelsea academy graduate.

As a result, Como are understood to be stepping aside rather than engaging in a bidding war they are unlikely to win. Their decision effectively clears the path for Inter to push ahead with negotiations.

Chelsea are expected to sanction a sale if an acceptable offer arrives, allowing Chalobah to begin a new chapter after spending the majority of his career at Stamford Bridge. A move to Serie A now appears the most likely outcome, with Inter firmly in pole position to complete the transfer before the new season begins.
