Chelsea’s move Xavi Simons might no longer happen

Chelsea have been in the race to sign Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig this summer transfer window.
However, as the end of the window draws closer, there are now speculations that the transfer deal may collapse.
According to Bild, Simons’ move to Stamford Bridge has been on the rocks for some time with only “loose communications” between the clubs lately.
It was reported that the Blues have informed the 22-year-old former PSG and Barcelona youth that they will only be able to sign him if a player moves in the opposite direction.
Chelsea have offered three players Axel Disasi, Christopher Nkunku and Carney Chukwuemeka, who has since moved to Borussia Dortmund to RB Leipzig as part of a swap deal.
While Nkunku is a player that the Leipzig have at least considered, some chiefs at the club are said to be against his return.
Disasi, meanwhile, appears to hold no appeal for Leipzig, who are unwilling to accept Chelsea’s terms.
A €70 million price tag has been placed on Xavi’s head, which the Blues are also not ready to play despite reaching personal agreement with the footballer.
In the long run, Xavi might end up staying at Leipzig for another season.
