Chelsea lower price tag for midfielder

Chelsea are set to part ways with Carney Chukwuemeka this summer transfer window and are willing to lower his price to ensure the deal happens.

The Blues want Chukwuemeka, however, do not want a loan transfer for the midfielder.

Chelsea’s decision come amid Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund’s interest in the midfielder.

The West London club are reportedly willing to lower their valuation of the talented midfielder according to German outlet Bild via Ruhr24.

According to the reports, Chelsea are willing to let Chukwuemeka go for around €25 million, down from the initial asking price of €40 million.

The report claim Dortmund are now seriously considering a permanent transfer for the 21-year-old.

Recall that Chukwuemeka was in Germany for in the second half of last season on loan, where he made 17 appearances for Dortmund.

The midfielder also want to return to the Signal Iduna Park, which has server as boost for Dortmund as they negotiate with the Blues.

Chukwuemeka, who attended Northampton Town and Aston Villa academies, made it to the latter’s first team in 2021, before moving to Stamford Bridge in 2022.

The midfielder’s exit comes amid the Blues plan to create space for new players ahead of next season.
