Benjamin Sesko back on Manchester United’s radar as striker search continues

Benjamin Sesko has re-emerged as a key name on Manchester United’s shortlist for a new No. 9, talkSPORT reports.

The 22-year-old RB Leipzig striker was previously targeted by Arsenal, but the Gunners are now closing in on Sporting Lisbon forward Viktor Gyokeres as their preferred option.

Sesko turned down a move to Old Trafford last summer in favour of staying at Leipzig, but United have reignited their interest following the £62.5 million signing of Matheus Cunha. With a striker remaining a top priority, the club continues to evaluate multiple options.

Nicolas Jackson and Ollie Watkins are also being considered. Watkins, who scored 16 Premier League goals last season, was subject to a surprise January bid from Arsenal, though Aston Villa rejected the approach. United could now revisit that opportunity, with the 29-year-old remaining on their radar.

Meanwhile, Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson may be a more accessible option. Having slipped down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge, a deal for the Senegalese striker might be easier to negotiate.

United’s recruitment team remains active, assessing both domestic and international forwards in a bid to bolster their attacking options ahead of the new season. Young talents like Liam Delap and Joao Pedro also impressed at the Club World Cup, adding further names to United’s evolving shortlist.

As the transfer window progresses, the Red Devils are expected to accelerate talks and make decisive moves to secure the right fit for their frontline.
