Arsenal Transfer in Doubt Despite Agreement on Personal Terms

Arsenal’s plans in the summer transfer window could take an unexpected turn, as a key target may no longer be heading to the Emirates Stadium, despite a full agreement on personal terms.
According to reports, Arsenal are at risk of missing out on Valencia defender Cristhian Mosquera. The Gunners had been pushing to secure his signature, with manager Mikel Arteta and sporting director Andrea Berta working hard behind the scenes. Mosquera, whose contract at Valencia expires next summer, had reportedly agreed to personal terms with Arsenal. However, the deal now appears to be at risk of collapsing.
This surprising development comes as Arsenal continue their aggressive recruitment strategy following a disappointing 2024/25 season. The club fell short in their Premier League title challenge and suffered a painful Champions League exit to Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-finals.
Arsenal have already completed several major signings, including midfielder Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard, and goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, as they look to strengthen their squad for the new campaign.
Talks are also ongoing with Sporting CP for striker Viktor Gyokeres, who has also reached an agreement on personal terms with the Gunners.
Meanwhile, former Arsenal defender Sol Campbell has raised questions about the club’s pursuit of Chelsea winger Noni Madueke, urging caution over the reported £52 million move.
Despite their busy transfer activity, Arsenal’s plans could still face setbacks, as they work to finalise deals before the new season begins.
