Bournemouth are reportedly close to completing a deal for Chelsea goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the Cherries are “confident” of finalising the transfer, with Petrovic said to have agreed to the move.

Bournemouth are looking to strengthen their squad after Kepa Arrizabalaga, who spent last season on loan with them, completed a move to Arsenal. Manager Andoni Iraola is eager to bring in an experienced goalkeeper, and Petrovic has emerged as their top target. The deal is expected to be completed soon, with only the final details left to be agreed.

Petrovic, who joined Chelsea in 2023 from New England Revolution following an impressive spell in Major League Soccer, made 31 appearances for the Blues during the 2023/24 season. However, he spent last season on loan at Strasbourg and is now ready for a permanent move away from Stamford Bridge in search of regular playing time.

The Serbian goalkeeper had also attracted interest from clubs such as Galatasaray and Sunderland, but Bournemouth have moved ahead in the race for his signature. Petrovic’s arrival would provide much-needed stability between the posts for Bournemouth as they prepare for the new Premier League season.

With the move nearing completion, Petrovic is set to become Bournemouth’s latest signing as they continue to bolster their squad ahead of the upcoming campaign. The transfer is expected to be finalised in the coming days, pending final agreements between the clubs.
