Arsenal are reportedly edging closer to an agreement with Crystal Palace for the signing of attacking midfielder Eberechi Eze.

The move, if completed, could significantly bolster the Gunners’ squad ahead of the new season.

Having already secured Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad and nearing a deal for striker Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting Lisbon, Arsenal are showing clear intent to strengthen their squad in key areas. The addition of Eze would further enhance their attacking options, making them strong contenders for the Premier League title.

Eze, who was ranked 39th in FourFourTwo’s list of the best Premier League players last season, enjoyed an outstanding campaign with Crystal Palace. He netted 14 goals and provided 11 assists across all competitions, including scoring the decisive goal in Palace’s historic FA Cup final victory over Manchester City at Wembley.

His performances have drawn serious interest from Arsenal, who are now pushing to finalise the deal. Reports suggest the Gunners have tabled an offer worth £45 million upfront, with further discussions ongoing regarding potential add-ons and payment structure to meet Crystal Palace’s full valuation.

Interestingly, Eze was previously rejected by Arsenal during his youth career, adding an extra layer of intrigue to this potential transfer. A return to the Emirates Stadium would represent a full-circle moment for the England international, who has since established himself as one of the league’s standout playmakers.

If completed, the deal would underline Arsenal’s ambition and provide Mikel Arteta with another top-tier option as they prepare for a title challenge
