Arsenal are reportedly closing in on a deal to sign Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze, with negotiations potentially reaching a conclusion within hours.

Talks have accelerated as Palace are said to be interested in including an Arsenal player as part of the agreement, potentially reducing the transfer fee involved.

Arsenal’s sporting director Andrea Berta, alongside manager Mikel Arteta, is pushing forward with plans for a busy summer window. They have already secured goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea after triggering his £5 million release clause. Additional signings are imminent, with Martin Zubimendi expected to be unveiled this week and Christian Norgaard’s arrival from Brentford reportedly set for next week.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported on Wednesday that Arsenal have made direct contact with Eze, and the England international is open to the move. Romano explained that Eze is attracted by Arsenal’s long-term project and has shown a strong interest in joining the Gunners. Arsenal are also fully aware of the release clause terms in his current contract.

Further reports suggest Arsenal have been positioning themselves for several weeks to make this deal happen, with Palace showing interest in an Arsenal player to help facilitate the transfer.

Should an agreement be reached, Eze would become a high-profile addition to Arsenal’s squad, as Arteta looks to inject further creativity and attacking depth for the upcoming season.
